Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 12 more assists than your opponent, a fact Hodgeman County proved on Friday. They blew past Deerfield 60-26 at home.
Hodgeman County relied on the efforts of Matthew Patterson, who scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds, and Owen Reece, who scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds. Kendall Burns was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Trego's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Hodgeman County, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Trego beat Hodgeman County 48-40 when the teams last played back in December of 2020. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trego since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
