The Calvary Academy Warrior had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They snuck past Somerset Bible Baptist Christian Academy with a 57-52 win. For Calvary Academy, this counts as revenge for the 41-39 defeat the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Leading Calvary Academy to victory were Caleb Arleth and Jake Nelson. Arleth scored 15 points, while Nelson scored 19 points. Arleth has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Caiden Young was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Despite the loss, Somerset Bible Baptist Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Carter English, who scored 22 points. English is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyair Jones, who scored 12 points.
Calvary Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Somerset Bible Baptist Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
Calvary Academy will be playing at home against the at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ocean County Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Somerset Bible Baptist Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Swordsmen at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Solid Rock Christian School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
