Clay got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brynn Reiter out in front who posted 20 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Reiter continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Tori Cousino was another key player, putting up 16 points and six steals.
Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Clay, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springfield will head out to face off against Archbold at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Archbold will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Springfield surely won't give up without a fight. As for Clay, they are taking a road trip to take on Southview at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd. Clay has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
