If the East Chapel Hill Wildcats were riding high off their 59-18 takedown of the Northern Durham Knights last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. East Chapel Hill fell 43-36 to Jordan on Wednesday. East Chapel Hill lost against Jordan in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 80-38 score last time.
Despite the loss, East Chapel Hill still got an impressive performance from Abigail Stone, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 55.6% of East Chapel Hill's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Eleanor Schwartz, who scored three points along with five steals and two blocks.
East Chapel Hill has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Jordan, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
East Chapel Hill will head out on the road to take on Hillside at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Hillside's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while East Chapel Hill has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Jordan will take on Riverside-Durham at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverside-Durham will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while Jordan is ranked 237th).
