The Pickens Academy Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tuscaloosa Christian.
Tuscaloosa Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Anglin out in front who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Anglin set a new season high mark in points with 20. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Joiner, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Pickens Academy bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Tuscaloosa Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pickens Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Heritage Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Tuscaloosa Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Russell Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th.
