AAAAAA Region 2 recap September 10, 2013
Newton was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in AAAAAA Region 2. The Rams vanquished Lowndes 15-14 earlier in the week.
Rockdale County scaled the state rankings by moving to 151 from 267 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs climbed the ranks as a result of beating Heritage 9-7.
Newton's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Romario Johnson threw for 200 yards and Davonta Jones had 104 yards receiving. On the ground Atrice Hobbs chipped in 79 yards. Khamari Robinson helped Newton's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 46 yards.
