Central Sequoia recap September 17, 2013
Austin Cardoza of Exeter ran for the longest rushing play in Central Sequoia this season against Taft last week. Cardoza scampered for 96 yards on the play and finished with 358 on the day as his team bested the Wildcats.
Exeter scaled the state rankings by moving to 338 from 416 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Ben White's team was able to make move up by beating Taft 41-16.
Herman Avalos was the best wideout in the league this week as Selma defeated Shafter. Avalos racked up 4 receptions for 151 yards. Nick Garcia helped Selma's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 71 yards.
Cardoza was a force in the backfield as the Monarchs beat Jarudd Prosser's team.
Marcus McMaryion put up the best numbers through the air as Dinuba topped Hanford. He finished with a total of 13 completions for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns. McMaryion's favorite target this week was Even Herod, who caught 7 passes for 71 yards.
Cardoza was a passing and rushing force as Exeter beat the Wildcats.
Cardoza was the best running back in Central Sequoia this week. Kyle Jones also contributed to the rushing game with 14 yards on the ground.
Chad Zeibak made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Monarchs bested Taft. The 5-foot-11 senior.
6-foot-2 quarterback McMaryion of the Emperors is the league leader in passing yards this season with 555. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Avalos. The Selma star has 11 catches for 311 yards.
Exeter took down the Wildcats 41-16 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cardoza in the win.
