If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Tonopah. On Friday they take on Round Mountain at Tonopah HS at 7:00 PM. Round Mountain will need to watch out since Tonopah have now posted big point totals in their last six contests.
Last Saturday, Tonopah put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They took their contest against Coleville by a conclusive 62-28 score. Junior Koby Bunker, who rushed for 201 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in Tonopah's success. Bunker has been a consistent playmaker for Tonopah as this was the 6th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, after a dominant win in their game two weeks ago, Round Mountain were humbled. They were given a punishing 28-68 loss at the hands of Mineral County. Round Mountain were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 12-38.
Tonopah simply couldn't be stopped the last time the two teams met, as they easily beat Round Mountain 60-14. Will Tonopah repeat their success, or does Round Mountain have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
