The Cordova Lancers will head out on the road to square off against the West Park Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
On Monday, Cordova didn't have quite enough to beat Antelope and fell 3-2.

04/25/25 vs Grant | 2 |
04/23/25 @ Kennedy | 2 |
Levi Nyberg was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since April 4th. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Nathaniel Jones was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when West Park faced off against Kennedy on Monday. The Panthers blew past the Cougars 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 14 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
David Ortez looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Ayden Deome was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Christopher Fisher was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five stolen bases and three runs.
West Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennedy only posted a batting average of .150.
West Park pushed their record up to 21-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Cordova, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12-1.
Cordova couldn't quite get it done against West Park in their previous meeting on April 11th as they fell 6-1. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
