The Rampart Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Erie Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rampart comes in on three and Erie on nine.
With a playoff game on the line, Rampart rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past Grand Junction Central 48-6 on the road. Rampart might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matches by 36 points or more this season.
Maciu Ramaqa continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 138 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also picking up 42 receiving yards. Ramaqa was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards. Khalid Elwazier was in the mix too, providing Rampart with two touchdowns.
Rampart's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Peter Richardson was especially locked on to Grand Junction Central's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Erie can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match two weeks ago. They blew past Greeley West, posting a 53-6 win on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 53-6.
Gavin Lusk was a one-man wrecking crew for Erie as he rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Ronin Ward was another major influence, as he rushed for 74 yards and ran in a TD.
Their wins bumped Rampart to 7-4 and Erie to 9-1.
