The St. Lawrence Central Larries will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the South Lewis Falcons at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Lawrence Central is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Monday, St. Lawrence Central was able to grind out a solid win over Colton-Pierrepont, taking the game 33-26. The win was just what St. Lawrence Central needed coming off of a 72-44 loss in their prior game.
St. Lawrence Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Lemay led the charge by scoring seven points along with six steals. Damien Ashley was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven steals.
Meanwhile, South Lewis' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 58-42 bruising from Copenhagen. While losing is never fun, South Lewis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 531st, while Copenhagen is ranked 153rd).
The win got St. Lawrence Central back to even at 3-3. As for South Lewis, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
