After losing to Yough the last time they met, Mt. Pleasant decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Cougars on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Danica Trainer 2027 was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Trainer 2027 wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kendell Waters 2027, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Mt. Pleasant hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive contests.
