Coastal Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Guajome Park Academy with a sharp 3-0 victory. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Stingrays yet this season.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Coastal Academy was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-13, 25-12.
Mariela Cordoba was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had five digs and five aces.
Cordoba wasn't the only good servers: Coastal Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Escondido Adventist Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Orange Glen. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hawks have suffered since October 24, 2024.
