The Belmont Sentinels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 57-37 loss at the hands of Mendez. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Belmont has suffered against Mendez since November 17, 2021.
Belmont lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Semaj Norwood, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ardee Parfan, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Belmont has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Mendez, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Belmont will be playing at home against Robert F. Kennedy Community at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mendez, they will head out on the road to take on Bernstein at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Bernstein presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mendez in California (Bernstein is ranked 466th, while Mendez is ranked 1174th).
