After three games on the road, Celina is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the New Knoxville Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Tuesday, Celina came up short against Parkway and fell 33-23. Celina has not had much luck with Parkway recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, New Knoxville's 16-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They managed a 47-42 victory over St. John's. New Knoxville's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Knoxville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brynn Egbert, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Egbert has scored at least 25% of New Knoxville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Albers, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Celina bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for New Knoxville, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-6.
Celina strolled past New Knoxville in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 32-15. Does Celina have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Knoxville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
