Football Recap: Lampasas Starts Season with Win on the Road

Lampasas had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed past the Fredericksburg Billies to the tune of 52-14. The Badgers have beaten the Billies the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Billies has come to flipping the script.

Several Billies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Griffin Beard, who picked up 86 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lampasas will square off against Salado at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fredericksburg, they will take on Wimberley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
