After seven games on the road, Burges is heading back home. They will take on the Jefferson Silver Foxes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Burges is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jefferson in Texas (Burges is ranked 144th, while Jefferson is ranked 1443rd).
In what's become a running theme this season, Burges gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They beat Andress by the very same score they won with last week: 61-26. With Burges ahead 31-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Jordyn Hernandez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Danae Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 11 rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, Jefferson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 15th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Canutillo, falling 59-9. Jefferson has struggled against Canutillo recently, as their match on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Burges' victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.
Everything came up roses for Burges against Jefferson when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 89-4 win. With Burges ahead 56-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
