The Poughkeepsie Pioneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They were the victim of a tough 56-30 defeat at the hands of Saugerties. Poughkeepsie has not had much luck with Saugerties recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Natalie Tucker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Saugerties, scoring ten points. The matchup was Tucker's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Helene Kerr, who scored three points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.
Poughkeepsie bumped their record down to 0-1 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Saugerties, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Poughkeepsie will be playing in front of their home fans against Carmel at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Saugerties, they will head out on the road to face off against Rondout Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rondout Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 367th, while Saugerties is ranked 158th).
