Basketball Recap: IDEA Montopolis Extends Winning Streak to Five

IDEA Montopolis entered their tilt with San Juan Diego Catholic on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 54-41 win over the San Juan Diego Catholic Saints. For IDEA Montopolis, this counts as revenge for the 79-16 victory San Juan Diego Catholic walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2021.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead IDEA Montopolis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Damarion Fisher, who posted 20 points and five boards. Fisher has been hot, having posted 17 or more points the last five times he's played. Rudolfo Najar was another key player, putting up 15 points and six rebounds.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aidan McCormick, who had 13 points. Another player making a difference was Diego Sanchez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

IDEA Montopolis' win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for San Juan Diego Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. IDEA Montopolis will head out to take on Valor South Austin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Juan Diego Catholic, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Founders Classical Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. San Juan Diego Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.
