Despite their loss, Payson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Clara Whaley, who posted ten points and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Whaley has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Grace DeSchaaf was another key player, putting up seven points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Payson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 20 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Holbrook earned a 50-39 win over Window Rock on Thursday.
