Freelance recap September 4, 2013
Mt. Carmel scaled the state rankings by moving to 140 from 190 this week, the biggest jump in Freelance. The Aces were able to make move up by beating Harrisburg 41-6.
East Alton-Wood River fell to Columbia 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Sam Toennies and Jordan Ratermann gave Mater Dei a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Toennies threw for 206 yards, while Ratermann ran for 97 yards. Teammate Jared Thole added to the ground attack by rushing for 20 yards.

Reece Metcalf was the best wideout in the league this week as Mt. Carmel bested the Bulldogs. Metcalf tallied 10 receptions for 171 yards. Levi Laws helped Mt. Carmel's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 78 yards.
Ratermann was the best running back in the league this week.
Toennies put up the best numbers in passing as Mater Dei defeated Effingham. Toennies' favorite target this week was Nick Hitpas, who caught 5 passes for 74 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Toennies and Ratermann, Jim Stiebel's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Toennies leads the league in passing with 206 yards, while Ratermann has rushed for 97 yards this season. Tops in the league in receving yards is Darren Peach's team's Metcalf, with 171 yards on 10 catches.
The Aces led Freelance in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on Harrisburg. Metcalf ran for 58 yards in the win.
