Wabasha-Kellogg has been on the road for four straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Cotter Ramblers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Wabasha-Kellogg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 on Monday.
Wabasha-Kellogg suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Monday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 67-44 to La Crescent, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Wabasha-Kellogg's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ileana DeAngel, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds, and Brielle Adams who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 54.5% of Wabasha-Kellogg's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kylee Metcalf was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Cotter waltzed into their match on Saturday with four straight wins but they left with five. They secured a 74-68 W over Hayfield. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Wabasha-Kellogg bumped their record down to 1-13 with that loss, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cotter, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
Wabasha-Kellogg might still be hurting after the 63-37 defeat they got from Cotter in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wabasha-Kellogg was down 37-10.
