The New Life Christian Academy Monarchs's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against Hertford County by a score of 56-47.
New Life Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaleb James out in front who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaheim Faison, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Hertford County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rimiez Williams, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 34% of Hertford County's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Keveon Rodgers, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and five assists.
New Life Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Hertford County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
New Life Christian Academy will take on South View at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. South View is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Hertford County, they will head out on the road to square off against Camden County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Camden County is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
