Baseball Recap: Oak Ridge Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Oak Ridge had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Victory Christian Conquerors as they made off with a 13-1 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 11 runs or more this season.

Parker Free was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mikee Teasley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Oak Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Oak Ridge's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Victory Christian, they moved to 4-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Oak Ridge Wildcats face off against Powell Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Powell's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Oak Ridge's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Victory Christian, they will face off against Checotah at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Checotah has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.71 runs per game on average), something Victory Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
