It's playoff time, and St. Joseph had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Torrington Raiders on Monday as they made off with a 12-0 victory. Considering the Cadets have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Katie Dzialo was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 22 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, St. Joseph let MacKenzie Caouette and Kelsey Flanagan run wild. Caouette went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Flanagan went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Flanagan has posted since back in May. McKenna Stratton was another key player, going 1-for-5 with three RBI and one double.
