The Glen Iris Baptist Swordsmen waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They slipped by Mt. Pleasant Christian 61-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Joshua Everett was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six assists and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Jackson Dickey was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Glen Iris Baptist pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Mt. Pleasant Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Glen Iris Baptist won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Providence Classical at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Providence Classical is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Mt. Pleasant Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Marshall Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m.
