Mountain View-Gotebo had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Snyder Cyclones as the Mountain View-Gotebo Tigers made off with a 19-6 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Trigger Trogglin made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Trogglin was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Mountain View-Gotebo got a massive performance out of Creed Tontigh, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two triples, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Cale Brock, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Mountain View-Gotebo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Snyder only posted an OBP of .400.
