After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Refugio, Cotulla was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Brackett Tigers 47-6 on the road. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cowboys as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Alex Medina went supernova for Cotulla, rushing for 92 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, while also throwing for 217 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Medina got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible 65 yards. Frank Torres was Medina's top target, rushing for 36 yards and a touchdown, while also picking up 44 receiving yards.
The win got Cotulla back to even at 1-1.
Cotulla will challenge Pearsall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Brackett, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they challenge Somerset Academy Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
