Plant and Gaither are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. Plant will face off against Gaither at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Plant will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Last Thursday, Plant made easy work of East Bay and carried off an 18-3 win. Considering the Panthers have won five games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Shelise Johnson was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Medina, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Plant always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Bay only posted an OBP of .318.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Gaither sidestepped Jefferson for an 8-6 victory. The Cowboys haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Kacey Wilkes made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Wilkes was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Alena Alakrah was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and one triple. Another player making a difference was Riley Russell, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Plant's record now sits at 8-5. As for Gaither, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Plant was able to grind out a solid victory over Gaither in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plant since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
