Volleyball Recap: Triopia/Virginia Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Triopia/Virginia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Brown County Hornets on Tuesday. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hornets, too.

Triopia/Virginia never let Brown County on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-14.

Brown County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Martinez, who had 13 digs and three aces. Martinez has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nena Boylen, who had 17 digs.

Triopia/Virginia pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Brown County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Triopia/Virginia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Barry Western on the 11th. As for Brown County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Macomb on the 11th.
