The Lightridge Bolts will challenge the Battlefield Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lightridge will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Battlefield's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Lightridge hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Bolts never let Briar Woods get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Bolts have won six games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Peyton Robinson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Maya Thaivalappil was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Knapp, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Lightridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Briar Woods only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Battlefield made easy work of Osbourn on Thursday and carried off a 15-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.
Like Lightridge, Battlefield also got a great game from a two-way player: McKenzie Pittman. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Pittman was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Chloe Baird was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Abby Burns was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Lightridge pushed their record up to 13-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Battlefield, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
Battlefield's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Lightridge has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Battlefield, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4 strikeouts. Will Lightridge keep running through batters, or will the Bobcats buck the trend?
