The Leonardtown Raiders posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They breezed by McDonough on the road to the tune of 54-17. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 21 to 7 on the offensive boards, as Leonardtown did.
Teonne Thomas was the offensive standout of the game as she scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Alaina Burks was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five steals.
Despite the loss, McDonough saw an underclassman step up: Jalynn Rosier scored nine points along with two steals.
Leonardtown now has a winning record of 5-4. As for McDonough, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leonardtown will take on Huntingtown at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Huntingtown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Monday. As for McDonough, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Great Mills at 6:30 p.m. Great Mills is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
