The Griffin Bears can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. Everything went their way against West Laurens as Griffin made off with a 66-44 win. The score was close at the half, but Griffin pulled away in the second half with 37 points.
It was another big night for Camiya Starks, who scored 22 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zamiyah Hosley, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and five steals.
Griffin pushed their record up to 11-7 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for West Laurens, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Griffin won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Spalding at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. Spalding is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. West Laurens won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Dodge County at 4:00 p.m. on January 20th. Dodge County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Laurens in Georgia (Dodge County is ranked 108th, while West Laurens is ranked 289th).
