The West Mesquite Wranglers will head out on the road to square off against the Samuell Spartans at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully West Mesquite is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Samuell in Texas (West Mesquite is ranked 173rd, while Samuell is ranked 444th).
West Mesquite unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Poteet 50-45.
Even though Samuell has not done well against North Mesquite recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Samuell walked away with a 46-37 win over North Mesquite. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Samuell.
West Mesquite's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-6. As for Samuell, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
West Mesquite opened the new year with a less-than-successful 50-38 loss to Samuell. Can West Mesquite avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
