After flying high against the CORE Butte Lynx last Friday, the Los Molinos Bulldogs came back down to earth. Los Molinos' tough 80-55 defeat to Biggs on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. Los Molinos was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-21.
Despite the loss, Los Molinos still got an impressive performance from Luke Cantonwine, who scored 23 points along with four steals. Cantonwine continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Josh Alcazar, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Biggs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Kroupa, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Kroupa hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Emilio Vera was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven assists and four blocks.
Los Molinos' defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Biggs, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Los Molinos will face off against Hamilton at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Biggs, they will head out on the road to square off against Maxwell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Maxwell: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Biggs has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
