Volleyball Recap: Lodi Comes Up Short

Lodi lost against Mayville back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Lodi sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-18, 21-25, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Lodi still got an impressive performance from Fayth Hesselberg, who had 17 digs and three assists. Hesselberg is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

Reagan Hardesty was the offensive standout of the contest as she had three digs and two aces. Allison Schelpfeffer also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Lodi's defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Mayville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Lodi wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Lomira on the 11th. As for Mayville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Columbus on the 11th.
