After only six points in their last match, Viera made sure to put some points up on the board against Astronaut on Friday. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 40-14 margin over the War Eagles. The Hawks not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 20, 2024 (when they won 45-8).

Viera's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eric Nelson led the charge by throwing for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight passes, while also rushing for 39 yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Duke Butler, who rushed for 91 yards and two TDs on only nine carries.

Another reason for the win was Viera's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Brian Veal with two. James Olson was another major factor on D, making 16 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Viera now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Astronaut, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Viera will face off against Titusville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Astronaut, they will challenge Space Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
