Hilltop moved up to 607 from 696 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Metro - South Bay. The Lancers climbed the ranks as a result of a 35-28 win over Bonita Vista.
Hilltop's dynamic duo of Daniel Sanchez and Montel Campbell proved tough for the Barons to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sanchez threw for 196 yards and three touchdowns and Campbell had 73 yards receiving. Sergio Vidrio helped Hilltop's passing attack out by catching two balls for 61 yards.
Landon Clark was the most productive running back in the league this week. In nine carries, he ran for 154 yards as Mar Vista defeated Bonita Vista. Jimmie Hill also contributed to the rushing game with 91 yards on the ground.
Southwest's Dominic Villamor and Maceo Harris have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Villamor has thrown for 622 yards this season, while Harris, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has seven catches for 201 yards. San Ysidro's Michael Thomas leads the league in rushing yards with 471.
The Lancers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,144 from 9,413. The improvement came about via a 35-28 victory over the Barons last week.
