Milpitas moved up to 147 from 225 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in De Anza. The Trojans were able to make the jump by besting Santa Clara 23-0.
Saratoga took down Homestead 56-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jonathan Walters threw for 326 yards and six touchdowns and ran for nine yards in the win.
Mark Hirschbek was the most productive running back in the league this week. In eight carries, he ran for 96 yards as the Mustangs bested the Mustangs. Teammate Derek Rositas added to the ground attack by rushing for 74 yards.
Dozier was the best wideout in the league this week as Saratoga defeated Homestead. Dozier racked up eight receptions for 149 yards. Grant Faylor helped Saratoga's passing attack out by catching three balls for 74 yards.
Tim Lugo's team's Walters and Dozier have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading De Anza in both passing and receiving yards. Walters has thrown for 1890 yards this season, while Dozier, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 45 catches for 751 yards. Delshawn Mitchell from Wilcox leads the league in rushing with 768 yards.
Entering into this week's contest against Mountain View, Walters is short just 110 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Chargers take on Milpitas. At the moment, Wilcox is in sixth, while Kelly King's team is in second.
