If Salem was feeling good fresh off their 11-5 takedown of Winthrop on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Witches fell 8-4 to the Hamilton-Wenham Regional Generals on Monday. The Witches' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Salem saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shea Christel, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Christel is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Hamilton-Wenham Regional, their record is now 11-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salem will square off against Marblehead at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Magicians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Witches' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hamilton-Wenham Regional, they will face off against Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
