Tyler Coleman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Mingo Central is 2-1 when Coleman posts two or more runs, but 4-12 otherwise.
In other batting news, Keziah Joplin was incredible, going 4-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Newsome, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Mingo Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Tolsia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat. They lost 16-3 to Scott.
Tolsia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bray Mollette, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Mollette is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Tolsia's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Mingo Central, their record is now 6-13.
Mingo Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Tolsia in their previous matchup back in April, winning 11-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Miners since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
