After four games on the road, Don Soffer Aventura is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the LaSalle Royal Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 52-10, which was the final score in Don Soffer Aventura's tilt against Mater Academy Charter on Monday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Don Soffer Aventura has scored all season.
Don Soffer Aventura's defeat came about despite a quality game from Brenda Klucznik, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, LaSalle had to suffer through a rough 59-24 loss at the hands of Schoolhouse Prep. While losing is never fun, LaSalle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Schoolhouse Prep is ranked 99th).
LaSalle got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Rachael Restrepo and
Melissa Carrasco, who each put up seven points. Restrepo held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Don Soffer Aventura have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 18.8 rebounds per game. It's a different story for LaSalle, though, as they've been averaging only 35 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
