After flying high against the Covenant School of Jacksonville Warriors on Thursday, the Parsons Christian Academy Lions came back down to earth. Parsons Christian Academy took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Global Outreach Charter Academy on Friday. While losing is never fun, Parsons Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 734th, while Global Outreach Charter Academy is ranked 332nd).
Despite the loss, Parsons Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Kon Kon scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kon has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Solomon Vickers, who scored seven points.
Global Outreach Charter Academy had a senior duo take command as Josue Rivera scored 17 points and Jason Martinez scored 15 points.
Parsons Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-8. As for Global Outreach Charter Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parsons Christian Academy and Christ's Church Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Christ's Church Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Global Outreach Charter Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
