Neville (Monroe, La.) snapped the 4-game winning streak of
McDonogh 35 (New Orleans, La.), with a 28-8 victory on Saturday.
The Tigers were up 14-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
John Diarse in the first quarter.
Neville expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. NHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by
Salarrious Jones.
With the win the Monroe school extended its winning streak to 13 games. The Tigers defeated the Terriers 51-14 last week.
Jones stood out for Neville in the win. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
Carlos Henderson played well for the Roneagles. The senior ran for one touchdown.
McDonogh 35's lone touchdown came on a 3-yard run by Henderson in the fourth quarter.
Led by
Laurence Jones, NHS came into the game allowing 8.7 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 50-8 win for the Tigers.
The loss comes after McDonogh 35 defeated Teurlings Catholic 34-27 last week.
