For Williamston's part, Jaiden Griffith was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits. Griffith has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Griffith was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Allison Kane was excellent, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. Tamara Sleight was another key contributor, going 1-for-2 with a triple and a run.
The win was the fifth in a row for Williamston, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
Lansing Catholic will be playing at home against Eaton Rapids at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Williamston, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-5 defeat vs. Mendon on the 20th.
