The Richland Colts lost against the Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg Patriots back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Richland was the victim of a tough 64-39 loss at the hands of Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Richland has scored all season.
Loss or not, Richland got some senior leadership from Casyn Syvertsen who scored 14 points and Nick Mjoness who scored 12 points. Mjoness scored a full 30.8% of Richland's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Richland struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Richland has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Richland will look to defend their home court on Monday against Lisbon at 7:00 p.m. Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg and Larimore will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Larimore focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
