The Sweetwater Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough  70-37 loss at the hands of Roane County. Sweetwater has not had much luck with Roane County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
 Sweetwater's loss  came despite strong showings from  Lilly Woodruff and  Kendall Tyler.  Woodruff  scored 15 points along with eight  rebounds, while  Tyler  scored ten points. Woodruff scored a full 40.5% of Sweetwater's points, the fourth time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points.
 Sweetwater's defeat was  their sixth straight at home, which  bumped their record down to 1-9. As for Roane County, the  win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
 Sweetwater will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Polk County at 6:00  a.m.  on January 5, 2024. As for Roane County, they will head out on the road to face off against Cumberland County at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Cumberland County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Roane County in Tennessee (Cumberland County is ranked 19th, while Roane County is ranked 107th).
