The Caldwell Bluejays came into Friday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Flinthills by a score of 49-38 on Friday. The win was just what Caldwell needed coming off of a 61-37 loss in their prior game.
Caldwell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mak Blosser, who scored 24 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blosser has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Risley, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake Hunter, who scored 13 points along with four steals. Hunter has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times he's played. Charles Farris was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds.
Caldwell's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Flinthills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Caldwell will take on South Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (South Haven is ranked 268th, while Caldwell is ranked 280th). As for Flinthills, they will be playing at home against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Flinthills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
