Even though the River Ridge Hawks have not done well against the Central Kitsap Cougars recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. River Ridge walked away with a 56-44 win over Central Kitsap. For River Ridge, this counts as revenge for the 76-56 loss Central Kitsap walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead River Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elgin Macomber , who scored seven points along with ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Thomas, who scored six points along with eight assists and three steals.
River Ridge's win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Central Kitsap, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Ridge will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rochester at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th. Rochester is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. As for Central Kitsap, they will head out on the road to face off against Timberline at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Timberline presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Central Kitsap in Washington (Timberline is ranked 97th, while Central Kitsap is ranked 333rd).
