Softball Recap: Leuzinger Wins Going Away Against King/Drew

Leuzinger barely beat King/Drew the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Leuzinger Olympians were the clear victor by a 14-2 margin over the King/Drew Golden Eagles on Saturday. The Olympians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.

Victoria Gonzalez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gonzalez was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jazmin Zamora and Tyler Lewis did most of the damage at the plate: Zamora went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Lewis scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Lewis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacqueline (Jaycee) Chavez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Leuzinger's record now sits at 5-1. As for King/Drew, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Leuzinger wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 4-2 win against South Gate on the 8th. As for King/Drew, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-0 loss against Banning on the 15th.
